What is Ulthera^®?

Ulthera® System is a brand new treatment that lifts and tones loose skin with no downtime and no surgery.

 

How does Ulthera^® work?

Ulthera® uses two types of ultrasound. First, the ultrasound imaging part called DeepSEE^™ allows visualization of the deep tissue layers. Next, focused ultrasound therapy called Ultherapy delivers heat to these deep tissues to jumpstarts the body’s natural renewal of tired collagen.

This results in creation of new, stronger collagen that tones and lifts the face and neck. By heating both the dermal layer and the deep fibro-muscular support layer, which up to now could only be addressed with a surgical facelift, Ulthera® is able to shift the skin back into a more youthful position, from the inside out.

Is there any downtime?

Are there any side effects?

No, usually there are no side effects except for slight redness for up to an hour or so following the treatment. Rarely slight swelling, tingling or tenderness to touch may occur but it is mild and temporary in nature.

What does Ulthera® treatment feel like?

Comfort thresholds vary from patient to patient, but there can be some discomfort while the energy is being delivered. This is temporary and a positive signal that the collagen-building process has been initiated. This sensation is actually tiny amounts of concentrated ultrasound energy being deposited below the surface of the skin. Discomfort can be minimized and will be discussed during your consultation.

Is Ulthera® safe with laser and filler treatments?

Lasers address issues in the more superficial layers of the skin such as pigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles. Ulthera® addresses the deep skin layer and the foundational layer that up to now could only be treated with surgery.  Therefore, Ulthera® is compatible and complementary with laser and filler treatments!

How long does it take to see results?

Improvement can begin immediately with some contraction and firming. As with exercising to build muscle, the building of new collagen to lift and tone skin occurs gradually over the following 2-3 months and continues for up to 6 months.
